Audi A1 Sportback

The Audi A1 Sportback is the entry level car for the iconic German manufacturer from Ingolstadt. The small, premium hatchback shares quite a few of it’s components with Volkswagen’s Polo but has its own unique identity with its sculpted exterior and interactive interior.

We got the A1 in Milan and decided to take it on a road trip through the Alps. Starting off in Como, we drove around 3/4thof the lake before diverting out to head up to Stelvio Pass. Today, we know of Stelvio as one of the best driving roads in the world, so we decided to go check it out. Unfortunately for us the day we decided to tackle Stelvio, seemed to be the rainiest of all days Italy had experienced. As we kept climbing the hairpin bends of this amazing road, the rain started to turn into snow and temperatures plummeted, turning the summit of the pass into a white wonderland. It was amazing to see motorcyclists still making their journey up to the top no matter the weather.

From Stelvio top we decided to go further into the Alps by descending down into Switzerland, our first stop being the quaint town of Santa Maria Val Mustair. A commune of about 500 people live together in this beautifully rustic town at the base of the Swiss side of Stelvio pass. Everyone is interconnect by what they do and the community is ever open to tourists and visitors. A local dish of the area worth trying is something called, Capuns, spinach wrapped bacon and wheat flour, baked and topped with Swiss cheese. A very delicious and filling meal.
